What to send for a fire alarm quotation
These details let us price the system the project actually requires.
- Architectural drawings or floor plans (PDF or DWG)
- Floor area, number of floors and building height
- Occupancy type: factory, warehouse, offices or mixed use
- The Civil Protection report, if one has been issued
- Systems the alarm must interface with: sprinklers, fire pumps, clean‑agent suppression
- A BOQ or a quotation you received, if any
Answers from the Egyptian code and NFPA text with the clause, and says so when the text has no answer.

Fire alarm system installation: panels and detectors
- Fire alarm control panel
- Smoke and heat detectors
- Bells and visual alarms
- Manual call points (break glass)
- Interface with suppression systems and fire pumps
- Testing, commissioning and handover documents
Conventional or addressable, as the project requires — no addressable where conventional is enough.

- 1 Fire alarm control panel (FACP)
- 2 Standby batteries (secondary power)
- 3 Detection loop, Class A where the project requires it: returns to the panel, so one break loses no device (otherwise Class B)
- 4 Smoke detector
- 5 Heat detector
- 6 Manual call point (break glass)
- 7 Notification appliance circuit with its end‑of‑line device
- 8 Sounder‑strobe
- 9 Monitor (interface) module on the loop
- 10 Clean agent releasing panel: alarm, discharge, fault
- 11 Fire pump controller: pump running, power or phase failure
- 12 Sprinkler waterflow switch (alarm), and a valve tamper switch (supervisory) where required

Value engineering: the same protection, for less where the code allows
We design the alarm to what the Egyptian Code for Fire Protection of Buildings (305) requires for the occupancy, with NFPA 72 as the supporting reference — no less, no more.
The usual solution
Heat detectors in sprinklered areas.
Ours, by the code
Omitted where the sprinklers start the alarm through a waterflow device (not for smoke detectors); a conventional system where it is enough, addressable where needed.
Basis Clause 3‑9‑2‑2 of part one of the Egyptian code
To be checked against the code in force and approved by a qualified engineer.
For contractors: your fire protection subcontractor
Supply, installation and testing at contractor pricing, with the handover documents and the tests required for acceptance.
48 working hours Free review of a BOQ or a quotation you received — technical notes and saving opportunities, no obligation.
What you get back from the review:
- What complies Items that meet the project and the code, left as they are.
- What exceeds the requirement What can be removed or downsized without a breach: the saving.
- What is missing What could fail the inspection if it stays missing.
- Which quantities need checking Quantities we ask you to check against the drawings.
Common questions before signing
What does fire alarm system installation cost in Egypt?
It depends on the detectors, call points and bells, the system type and the interfaces with suppression and pumps.
Send drawings or a BOQ for a written quotation, or for free notes and savings within 48 working hours.
Upload a BOQ file (opens WhatsApp in a new tab) Conventional or addressable: which one fits my building?
For conventional systems the Egyptian code limits an alarm zone to 2000 m², and to one storey where a storey exceeds 300 m².
Where zone indication is enough and addressable is not required, conventional suits many factories and warehouses, at a lower cost.

- الكود المصري 305 (الجزء 3) — بند 3-6-5-2
Will the system pass the Civil Protection inspection?
The decision belongs to the Civil Protection authority, not to us or any contractor, so we do not promise it.
What we commit to: design to the Egyptian code and NFPA 72, an acceptance test of every detector and manual call point as the code requires, and a record of completion.
- الكود المصري 305 (الجزء 3) — بند 4-1-2-1
Can the alarm cost less without breaking the code?
Sometimes: in sprinklered areas the Egyptian code allows heat detectors to be omitted when the sprinklers start the alarm on water flow; this does not apply to smoke detectors.
A system below the code may be rejected, and you pay twice.
- الكود المصري 305 (الجزء 1) — بند 3-9-2-2
Can the alarm be tied to suppression and fire pumps?
Yes, and that is what makes it one system: the panel receives the sprinkler flow switches and the fire pump status, and starts gas suppression after a warning and a delay.
We show the interface points in the drawings and the quotation, and test them at acceptance.
How long does installation take?
It depends on the building area, floors, interface points and equipment, so we do not quote a general figure.
We state the time and stages in writing in the quotation after the site visit, and agree any shutdown with you first.
Do you offer maintenance for fire alarm systems?
Yes. The Egyptian code requires a periodic testing and maintenance programme, at three levels: at most every two months, semi‑annual and annual.
Our maintenance contracts include a technical report after every visit.
